Carter was a ninja

Nate was a "Hair Wolf"

Nate's ONE!!

Happy Birthday Nate!!

Wow...I can't believe it's been one year!  Here are some pictures of my little Nate....

This is a picture from this morning.  Carter gave him this microphone as a gift after breakfast and he really loved it.  It's so funny to hear him talk into it!

Nate's Song

Ok, so we are kind-of a dorky family and we like to make silly songs.  We recently made up this song about Nate and we wanted to share it with you all.  I hope you enjoy!!

To the tune of I'm a Little Teapot:

I'm a little Nater-tot,
short and stout.
Here is my smile,
here is my pout.
When I get hungry,
hear me SHOUT!
Get me some food,
and put it in my mouth.

Carter actually thought of the Nater-tot part (before that, it was Monster...also appropriate:)

As for an update, I am doing well.  I am about 11 weeks along now (time flies).  I'm still doing school online and will be until December.  I'm going to start tutoring soon, so I'm really excited about that.  I really enjoy tutoring because I really feel like I'm helping students.  How rewarding!!

Anyway, Nate will be turning ONE soon and, boy, this time has gone by so fast.  I think of all that I have done during that time and I'm shocked to look back and see now that is just a memory. Now my next goal is to finish school.  I can't wait for that to be a memory:)  It's crazy to think that in April of next year, I will have a third child and be finished with school.  So, April will be a big month for me (and my family, of course).  Yeah!!

Well, I hope everyone is doing well.  Sorry, I don't have any pictures to post.  I'll be honest, I haven't taken any in so long (that's why I haven't done Wordless Wednesday...sorry Tabitha:).  I have no excuses, I'm just not keeping up these days.  Take care!!

Dr. Appointment

We had our doctor appointment yesterday and it went really well!!  I am about 8 weeks along, which sets me due for the middle of April.  We got to see and hear the heartbeat (which as many of you know, is one thing in the beginning of pregnancy you wish to see).  I thought that by the third pregnancy, I would think that all of this is "old news."  But it's by far the opposite; I find it even more amazing!!  WOW!!

Also, for those of you who are wondering why I haven't posted for a while...well, I'm back to school.  I started 3 weeks ago, and of course, it takes up a lot of my free time:(  And due to the fact that my body is going through some changes, I'm pretty tired.  So, after my work is done, I'm off to bed.  But I've decided that I will try to post more during my "free" time.

I hope everyone is doing good!!

Big News!!

Ok, some of you already know this but I have some big news for you...

Driskell #3 is on the way!!  (Sorry Mark, I really liked your idea about making it a game, but I was getting tired so I decided to make the big news more obvious:)

Anyway, because this is our third child and I know we will be getting a lot of questions, I decided to go ahead and answer them ahead of time.

Kelly's  "Frequently Asked Pregnancy Questions":

1.) Were you trying?
No, but what a GREAT surprise!

2.) Do you want a girl because you have two boys?
Tough question, either way we are blessed to be adding on to our family.  Of course, parts of me would love to have a little girl but I would also be just as happy having three little boys running around the house;).

3.) How far along are you?
5 weeks

4.)  What is the due date?
Sometime around mid-April.

5.) Will you be having any more children?
I have a feeling we may stop at three, but then again we may feel differently 5 or 10 years down the road.  Who knows what the Lord has in store for us?!

6.)  What does Jeremy think about all of this?
Happy, scared, excited, work, work, work, work, work....just kidding, he was really happy when we found out (in fact, he may have been a little more happy than me initially, if you can believe that).  I think I was just a little shocked by it all at first...but now...YEAH, baby # 3!!

Thank you all for being there to share our wonderful news!!  I hope you all are doing well!!

Blog Revamp

I got really bored with my old template, so I decided it was time to change it up a bit. I hope you all like it!!

Today was interesting...ok, well not really, but I did realize something. I had one of "those days" with the boys, if you know what I mean. Toward the end of what seemed to be a long day, I was watching Carter come up the stairs with Bear Bear and I thought, "Man, is that cute; he still needs his Bear Bear." Just seeing him walk up those stairs with his teddy bear in his arms made me realize that he is still such a young boy and that I really need to cherish this time with him. I think sometimes I tend to focus on him growing up that I forget to allow him to act his age. All I can say is that I am working hard and learning every step of the way. Despite these minor issues, you know what's best of all? .... I absolutely love being a mother to my two wonderful boys:)!!

On a lighter note, I wanted to share these pictures with you...

Ok, so I know it's a little mean, but I couldn't resist. I wanted at least one picture before we cut his hair:)

Carter actually took this picture and it turned out good. Future photographer? Who knows?

Ok Driskells, this one's for you. The ultimate chipmunk face!!

Finito!!

Don't let the Spanish title fool you, I really don't know Spanish all that well...

Anyway, I'm finally finished with my summer courses (hooray!). Well, actually I've been done for a week but I wanted to take a week and do nothing (as if that's possible:). I start my next class at the end of August, so I have until then to get some stuff done at home!!

The past five weeks seem like such a blur to me. It is really amazing how time flies when you're so busy. It's actually kind of sad when you think about all things that you can miss by being too busy. But with that being said, I have to admit I actually like being busy, not too busy, but just enough to feel productive. However, this intense summer was a little past my comfort zone! No complaints though...as you can see, we all survived and probably five years down the road I'll be saying "I can't believe I went back to school, how in the world did I do it?!"

Anyway, enough of that. During the time I was going to school, Jeremy worked hard on extending our lanai and building a playground for the boys. We're so happy that our backyard is finally feeling more like "home." Here are some random pictures of the boys on their swings and around the house. Hope you enjoy!!

The boys REALLY love their swings!!

I really liked this picture because you can see Nate's two bottom teeth.
I love those kind of grins!!

Don't ask why Carter insists on having his lounge chair & umbrella inside.
Such a goof ball!!

Carter told me that he really liked this picture, so I wanted to honor his opinion by posting it on my blog. I'm sure it will make him very happy!!

Color Quiz

Ok..call me crazy, but I love taking quizzes. I find them to be a lot of fun. I found this interesting quiz called the "Color Quiz" and I wanted to share it with all of you. My result analysis is pretty deep; I didn't even realize I had all of these subconscious thoughts (I guess that's why they are subconscious:). I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it is entertaining, so I would suggest that you all take a little time away from whatever you are doing take this short quiz. Have fun and let me know your results...

Also, look at the last "problem" in my color analysis. It reads, "The fear that she may be prevented from achieving the things she wants leads her into a relentless search for satisfaction in the pursuit of illusory or meaningless activities." HMMM...so that is why I'm spending my time taking this quiz. I guess that would be accurate:)

Blogging Withdraw

Wow..it's been about 2 weeks since I have last posted.  So, I decided to procrastinate my school work a little longer to share a little of my life over these past couple of weeks for all of my dedicated viewers (okay, so maybe my 3 dedicated viewers, but you still count:)...

For those who don't know, I am taking classes at FGCU (yes, my husband is married to a college girl:) and I am extremely busy.  It's so funny going back to school; I walk around campus surrounded by all of these young adults just out of high school and I am thinking "this is strange, I actually feel kind of old."  I know I look about the same age as most of them; at least that's what I hear; however, I'm still in denial about that!  I have 2 kids, shouldn't I be able to reap the benefits of being maternally respected by the younger population.  When will that time come..?  :)  Ok, so it's not that serious but it is sort of funny how I seem to fit in with the "college" crowd!!

Anyway, to go on...The classes I am taking have about 80 "old" people; all of which have bachelors degrees and wish to become certified teachers.  The program is a real blessing in so many ways.  First of all, it has made me realize that I have been called to be a teacher.  I love teaching; as well as I love learning.  Secondly, the class is grant funded, so I will not have to owe any money (YEAH!).  And third, it is a great program, with great and caring instructors who all love what they are doing.  You can't get much better than that!!  (And in case you are wondering, no, this is not a marketing ad for FGCU, I'm just truly blessed to be in this program.)

Well, I would love to stay and write but I have to go to bed now.  I've got to get up bright and early for school...  Here are some pictures we have taken over the last couple of weeks.  I hope everyone is doing great and I'll see you all soon!!!

Me and my wonderful boys (I've missed them over the past 2 weeks).

Happy Father's Day!!

I just wanted to say "Happy Father's Day" to all of you wonderful fathers out there!!    And Dad, I want to thank you for always being such a wonderful father and grandfather (pop-pop).  We appreciate all you have done for us and all of your love and support.  And Bobby, I want to thank you for being such a great, caring, and helpful dad and Do-Da.  I also want to thank for helping to create such a wonderful and caring son.  He is a great father, just as you are also!!

Last, but certainly not the least, Jeremy.  Well, where do I begin?  I guess I'll make a list of why you are such a wonderful father.  So, here it goes....
1.  You love the Lord.
2.  You love us.
3.  You work hard to get food on the table (and trees in the yard:).
4.  You're disciplined.
5.  You're fun.
6.  You're funny.
7.  You're intelligent (does grammar count?).
8.  You build the highest quality forts I have ever seen.
9.  You make the best bagel sandwiches (and chicken and scallops).
10. You love being a father!!!

I really could keep going on and on, but I think you get the point.  Thank you, Jeremy, for being such a wonderful husband and father.  I know it's hard sometimes, but you're truly doing a great job. I love you and I know the boys love you!

I'm sorry I have nothing to post for Wordless Wednesday, I've been slacking on taking pictures lately:) However, I did find this cool little MENSA quiz (Tabitha, go for it..). All you have to do is work out what the letters mean. Take a look at # 0 as an example. According to MENSA, if you get 23 of these, you are a "genius." Only 2 MENSA members achieved full marks. See how well you do!

Raising Kids

I would have to say that raising kids has to be the most confusing, but wonderful, time in my life. All of you veteran moms may be laughing at me, saying "yeah, been there, done that!"  But I really mean it.  The stage that Carter is at right now is so interesting.  It seems as though 3 weeks ago, I was battling frequent "tests."  He would test me on everything!! Then, it seemed as though a switch flipped (or maybe we just got more consistent on discipline).  Lately, he has been so happy, obedient, fearful (of being disciplined), and empathetic.  That's not to say that he's perfect, because we're still working on some areas with him and he still has some bad moments.  But we're getting there...I see the light. Everyone always told me and Jeremy, that it was just a phase (the longest phase of our lives, did I mention), so It's nice to see him on the other side of the toddler spectrum.

"God, please have Nate skip that stage, he's so wonderful and innocent right now....."
I know God doesn't always answer prayers the way you want Him to, but it's worth a shot!  :)

Misha

I'm so glad you are commenting now...maybe you will be starting a blog next.  You're on your way!!  I don't think John would mind:)

Ankle..

I want to thank all of you who responded to my picture with sympathy. But really, I am ok!  It looks a lot worse than it feels, so I suppose that's a good thing.  I'm going to church tomorrow, so, in order to cancel out the ugliness of my bruised foot, I decided to put some pretty nail polish on my toes.  I don't really think it worked though, it still looks pretty bad:)  Oh well!!

For those of you who don't know what happened, here's the story.......

I was having a great Driskell-McNeill tennis match and I went for a ball that was obviously way too out of reach....and....(OUCH) rolled my ankle.  I did it good to, none of this wimpy stuff!! That was on Monday, and today it's doing much, much better.  It just looks really bad!!

Well, I've got to go to bed now, I hope everyone is doing great!!  Thanks again for responding!!

Random Pictures

Here are some random pictures taken throughout the week....

This is Nate and his friend Cole (or "Cold" as Carter says).  His is one month to the day younger than Nate.  I got the opportunity to watch him for a couple of hours and boy did we have fun.  He is such a great little boy!!!!

Here's Nate with is special slippers on.  The Dillehay's got him these for his birthday.  He loves them....Thanks again Dillehay's!!

Carter loves to play with his blocks.  However, the only bad thing about these blocks is that he will take them out, play with them for 3 minutes, and leave them spread throughout the downstairs.  But in his defense, he has gotten better about putting them away:)

Here's Carter in his renovated (well, more rearranged than anything) playroom.  I spent 2 hours today cleaning, organizing, and rearranging while the boys played.  However, many of the toys that I was trying to organize somehow became the coolest toy that shouldn't be put away. So, without stating the obvious, Carter wasn't too big into me touching and rearranging his stuff.  Thought he did love it after I was finished.  Kids are so funny!!

5 Things That Make Me Smile...

So, Tabitha has challenged her fellow bloggers to upload pictures of 5 things around their house that make them smile.  This project was easy, except for the fact that their are too many things to choose from.  Here they are...I hope you enjoy!!

1.  As many of you know, Carter has a nose fetish.  I know it's strange, but it always makes me smile when I see him go after Nate's nose.  He puts his thumb in his mouth and rubs Nate's (or Bear Bear's) nose.  Every time he does it Nate turns away.  I guess I would too!!  :)

2.  My wonderful husband hanging out with his boys.  Please also take note of the mess surrounding them.  That's pretty normal these days!!

3.  Enough Said!!

4.  These are Carter's figurines for his train set.  He has labeled them as "Mommy and Daddy."  They do everything together; ride the train, get run over by the train, and kiss.  Please note the coffee and laptop in "Daddy's" hands....how appropriate!!

5.  Ok, so Jeremy may get upset at me for posting a picture of his office, but this does in fact makes me smile.  This is a picture of controlled chaos.  His desk is always loaded with work.  I appreciate all that he does so much.  He is the hardest worker I know and every time I step foot in his office, I am reminded of how grateful I am to have such a wonderful husband.
I love you, baby!!

Well, I hope you all enjoyed my pictures and I look forward to seeing everyone else's top 5!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

First of all, I wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to my Mom!!  You are such a wonderful women.  Thank you for always being there for me and my family.  Thank you for your help, support, encouragement, and wisdom.  It truly is appreciated!!!  I LOVE YOU!!

Secondly, I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all of my Wonderful lady friends out there.  You all are truly wonderful mothers.  I really mean that!!  You all deserve to be recognized on this day!!!  Relax....

Post from Dad Driskell

Dad Driskell signing on here...want to make that clear, because Kelly said if it is a bad post, then she wouldn't want to be blamed for it.

Just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers out there, but especially to my wife. She does so much in our family and for our family. So we are very blessed. I want her to enjoy this weekend and she needs to go to Kohls right now (to take some time off from the boys) and instead, she is still trying to be super mom and stay home with us.

So, I'm letting all of you faithful blog readers that she is a little stubborn (in a good way). So if you want her to go and take some time to relax, please post a quick note saying "go take some time off and enjoy"
I HAVE CREATED A USERNAME AND PASSWORD for you so you don't even have to make one:

Starting School Again...

Ok, so my posts may begin to be a little less frequent now.  I'm starting my online course and it seems to already be taking up a lot of time.  As if I had a lot to begin with:)

I'm sitting here at 6:30 in the morning, getting ready for work, and I'm looking at Nate playing with his bottle (who knew how much fun a bottle could be).  I'm enjoying watching him then, BAM!! I start thinking of everything I should be doing.  Why can't I just enjoy every moment without all of a sudden thinking of how I can be more productive.  That devil is so mean!!  So, your probably thinking "Well, then why is she posting on her blog when she should be enjoying her son?"  Good question; and I really don't know why.  I guess I just really enjoy sharing these little moments with my computer (and all of you of course:).  Anyway, I'm sure you all understand what I'm talking about. Sometimes it so hard to enjoy those small things in life when your so busy.  The devil really tries to squeeze into every part of life, doesn't he?!

Off to work; thanks for reading!!

P.S.  Everyone please take a look at the newest blogger addition.....The Hasting Blog.  They just moved to Florida from Illinois....Yeah!!

Myrtle Beach

Well, we just got back from our trip up to Myrtle Beach, SC to see my grandfather.  Thankfully, we also got the chance to get together with my aunt and uncle too (they were visiting from NJ). This was the first time that my extended family got to see the boys, so needless to say, we had a wonderful time.

The pictures here are from the Ripley's Aquarium.  The boys loved to see all of the different fish. But the sharks were the biggest hit of the day. Carter loved them and Nate had a smile on his face almost the whole time we were going through the water exhibit.  Well, we didn't actually go through, we went under:)  Anyway, it was really great because there was a conveyer that took us through the large aquarium, where we were able to see the fish swim above and around us.  It was really neat. Honestly, I really think this was Carter's favorite part. He was really intrigued by this conveyer; we had to keep reminding him to look at all of the sharks instead of the conveyer.  I have to admit though, I really enjoyed it too (I just tried to hide it a little better:)

Carter and Mommy
(Please note the "smile" Carter has in each of these pictures...It's his new thing!!)

This was Carter riding the pirate ship at the amusement park (don't worry, it wasn't full size). He loved riding all of the rides; at least the ones he could.  I had a lot of fun too because I was able to "supervise" Carter and ride on some of the rides with him.  It's fun to act like a kid again sometimes!!

Just a Thought

So, the other day I read in news that Steven Hawkings (world renowned physicist) said that it is likely that primitive life may exist in other areas of the universe.  Then he went on to say that the likelihood of intellectual life is very unlikely because the occurrence would be very rare.

Let me analyze this...
Scientist predict that there could be 5 -100 million different species on this planet.  They have only identified 2 million.

Dr. Hawkings, says that the likelihood of intellectual life would be very rare.  So, alone the human species would be a rare, spontaneous event, and that's not including the millions of other species on this planet.  Plain and simply, even Steven Hawkings says that spontaneous intellectual life is not likely to occur.  Interesting?!

Nate Stats

Nate's 6 month checkup was today!!  And for all of you who are wondering how big our darling little (or not so little) boy is, here are his "stats"......

21.4 lbs
28.25 in

Wow!!  No wonder I'm having trouble carrying him around.  And a note to Tabitha, our doctor said that we may want to start giving him water (the opposite of your problem:)  The doctor said, "I'm not calling him fat, he's just all around big.  Maybe before summer, you can start giving him about 8 ounces of water to help him reduce some of the calories [from formula]!!"  I love and trust the boys' doctor, so I know his intentions were good, but I can't help but think..."is my child really that big or am I just totally blind."  Oh well, I guess love is blind, right?!

The Website

I told some of you that I would be posting the "creation website," so I made sure I did this right away (it's at the bottom of the post).  A word of warning, the material that is covered is pretty in depth, however, I promise that it is very informative.  And for all of you math geeks  (you know who you are:), there are some references to different mathematical theories, so you will probably find that interesting.  With that being said, I still plan on writing about this topic over the next week, as there are a few other areas I want to cover.  Please let me know your thoughts.  I hope you enjoy the website!!

May I Clarify...

I wanted to state one more thing...

But first, please read the post below (otherwise you will not understand what I'm talking about!).

When refuting evolution, I will not be refuting the idea that organisms are not currently evolving, as I believe that by the hands of God, they are.  What I will be refuting, however, is the origin/creation of Earth and the force (God) by which things evolve.  I hope that makes sense!!

Also, please be sure to take the survey at the bottom right side of the page...

Question and Announcement

HAPPY 6TH MONTH BIRTHDAY NATE!!!!

I can't believe it's been 6 months...boy, time flies!!

Now, for my question--

As many of you know, I am a science geek...
I have been thinking a lot about the required inclusion of evolution in the public classroom, which led me to the idea of posting ideas and facts that refute evolutional theories.  In the past, I have studied refuting evolution (which helps me prove my faith) and I've found so many facts that I can't believe how inappropriate and inaccurate it is to only allow these theories into our public classroom.

Anyway, with that being said (and I hope I didn't bore you), I would like to know who would be interested in this topic.  I would like to begin next week with posting a daily argument on refuting evolution.  I plan on doing this for one week only (maybe longer, by request:) and hearing (well actually, seeing) your thoughts.

So, please let me know what you think.  Would you be interested in studying this important topic with me?

And also for the ones who really don't care about this subject...don't worry I will still post pictures!!  :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Driskell Boy Challenge...

I just wanted to post this picture of Carter, one, because it is really funny and, two, because he is the same age here as Nate is now (5.5 months). Then, I took a picture of Nate in the same pose so I could post it and show people their size similarities. Who do you think is the biggest?.......

Here, Carter is 5.5 months old and is about 27 inches and 19 lbs (taken from records).

In this picture Nate is 5.5 months old, about 27.5 inches and 20 lbs.....WOW!!

I wanted to add this picture because this is just a simple illustration of Nate...Happy!!!

I hope you all enjoyed these pictures as much as we did. I really had fun digging up these old pictures of Carter to see how alike they really are!! They don't really look alike (at least in my eyes), but they are definitely competing for the title of "Biggest Driskell Baby!!"
